Traditional Worship - Steps: One Day At a Time

Oct 25, 2026

What happens between the altar and the door? That space between our Sunday worship and our Monday reality is where faith gets tested, and it is exactly where this message takes us. Drawing from John 15:1-7, we are invited into one of Jesus' most vivid teachings: the image of a vine and its branches. The central truth is both simple and demanding. A branch cut off from the vine cannot produce fruit on its own, no matter how much it tries. And neither can we. Spiritual growth is not the result of willpower, good intentions, or impressive track records. It flows from remaining connected to Jesus, day by day, moment by moment. Steps 10 and 11 of the recovery journey give us a surprisingly practical framework for doing exactly that: honest self-examination and consistent prayer. These are not one-time events but ongoing practices, the kind that keep us rooted when old habits resurface and when life gets loud. The invitation here is not to perfection but to presence, showing up each day and asking God to lead us rather than waiting for a crisis to remind us that we need him.
