I AM Statements of Jesus: The Voice of Grace

In a world overflowing with noise, competing voices, and relentless opinions, how do we know which voice to trust? This message takes us deep into John 10:11-18, where Jesus makes one of his most beloved and profound declarations: 'I am the good shepherd.' When we understand the ancient weight behind these words, rooted in Ezekiel 34's devastating indictment of Israel's failed leaders and the tender promise of Psalm 23, we begin to see just how staggering this claim really is. God himself promised to shepherd his people personally, and here is Jesus saying, 'I am the one.' The good shepherd is not defined simply by competence, but by commitment. When the wolf arrives, the hired hand runs. The shepherd stays. That distinction cuts right to the heart of what we place our trust in, and whether the things we rely on, money, success, approval, our own strength, are true shepherds or merely hired hands who will eventually disappear when life gets hard.
